Sexual interference and sexual assault charges laid at Mud Creek in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 9, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., police responded to Mud Creek in Chatham for a sexual assault investigation.

Officers learned a man, believed to be a youth, approached a female youth, and touched her in an inappropriate manner.

On June 17, 2024, at 3:13 p.m., police responded again to Mud Creek in Chatham for another sexual assault investigation.

Police learned a man, believed to be a young person, approached an adult woman, and touched her in an inappropriate manner.

Following a thorough investigation, officers identified the man.

On June 18, 2024, at 9:32 a.m., the 19-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 22, 2024.

He is currently facing the following charges: sexual interference and two counts of sexual assault.
