Disturbance in Chatham leads to assault charge

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:49 a.m., police responded to St. Clair Street in Chatham for a disturbance.

Upon arrival officers located a woman with visible physical injuries.

Officers learned the man and woman were engaged in a verbal argument, when the man assaulted the woman.

The 40-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of July 22, 2024.

He has been charged with assault.
