Howard Township man arrested after his surety drops out

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 9:21 a.m., the man attended Chatham Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.

The man had been released by the court with a surety condition.

When the surety decided not to participate a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.

The 33-year-old Howard Township man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges stemming from several incidents: assault, arson – damage to property, arson-disregard for human life, two counts of impaired driving, two counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of assault causing bodily harm and four counts of uttering threats.
