Public intoxication charges laid after a disturbance in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1:30 a.m., police responded to an establishment on King Street West in Chatham for a report of a man causing a disturbance and who refused to leave the establishment.

Upon arrival, police found the man was found to be intoxicated by an alcoholic beverage and in a belligerent state.

The man still refused to leave upon police direction.

The 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he held in custody and released once sober.
