OPP: ‘Dangerous driver’ fails to stop for police in Plympton-Wyoming

OPP officials allege: On July 19, 2024, at approximately 12:54 p.m., Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a suspicious vehicle at an address on Egremont Road, Plympton-Wyoming.

An officer on patrol observed the subject vehicle, the driver displayed erratic driving behavior.

When a traffic stop was attempted, the vehicle failed to stop for police.

At approximately 3:35 p.m., a Lambton County officer was approached by a community member and made aware of a second report of a suspicious vehicle at an address on Little Ireland Road, Alvinston.

The vehicle was captured on video surveillance which matched the vehicle from the first incident.

After further investigation, on July 21, 2024, the driver was identified and subsequently arrested.

As a result, a 38-year-old Sarnia man was charged with the following offences:

– Dangerous operation

– Flight from peace officer

– Assault with a weapon

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Sarnia.
