Failing to attend court charges in Orford Township

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 20, 2023, Police responded to a suspicious vehicle on London Road in Thamesville.

Through investigation, officers confirmed the vehicle was stolen.

Police identified the man in possession of the vehicle through surveillance footage.

The man was arrested and provided a court date.

When he failed to attend court, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 29 at 8:50 a.m., the 41-year-old Moraviantown man was located and arrested on Austin Line in Orford Township.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: possession of stolen property over $5000.

As a result of the bail hearing, the man was released by the court with a court date of August 21, 2024.
