Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Earlier this year, a 32-year-old Chatham woman was bound by certain conditions as a result of two impaired operation charges. On July 31, 2024 at approximately 4:40 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Police officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Thames Street in Chatham, and found the woman operating a motor vehicle and failing to comply with her conditions. The 32-year-old Chatham woman was arrested for failing to comply with her conditions and driving while under suspension. She was transported to police headquarters where she was held in police custody pending a bail hearing on August 1, 2024.
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 28, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police began an intimate partner violence investigation, which led to several charges against a 39-year-old Tilbury man. Upon appearing before a Judge on July 2, 2024, the Tilbury man was released from custody with several conditions including not to communicate or associate with his ex-partner, a 33-year-old Tilbury woman or attend her address and to remain in his residence daily between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. In the early morning of August 1, 2024, the Chatham-Kent Police received information that the 39-year-old male was at his ex-partners residence where he was not supposed to attend. Officers began the investigation, and with consent of the 33-year-old Tilbury woman, officers located the 39-year-old Tilbury man hiding from police in the residence. As a result of these findings, the 39-year-old Tilbury man was arrested for two counts of failing to comply with conditions; he was transported to Police Headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing on August 1, 2024. The 33-year-old Tilbury female was also charged with one count of facilitating a breach. She was released on scene with a future court date of August 19, 2024.
