Get ready to indulge in a celebration of Canada’s most beloved sweet treat.
Dougthefoodie, in collaboration with Curious Bird Market, is thrilled to announce the inaugural Tart & Soul Butter Tart Festival, set to take place on June 28, 2025, at Son’s of Kent in Chatham, Ontario.
There’s nothing more quintessentially Canadian than the butter tart, and this festival aims to honour its ooey-gooey goodness in all its forms. Whether you prefer your tarts with or without nuts and raisins, this event promises to bring together butter tart enthusiasts from all walks of life.
“The Tart & Soul Butter Tart Festival is a dream come true for butter tart lovers,” said event organizer Doug Robbins.
“We’re excited to bring together local bakers, home enthusiasts, and commercial producers to celebrate this iconic Canadian dessert.”
The festival will feature a variety of activities, including a butter tart competition where participants can showcase their best creations in several categories such as Best Tart Overall, Best Commercial Tart (Local and Regional), Best Homemade Tart, and specialty categories for those unique and creative twists.
“We are thrilled to create an event that not only celebrates a beloved Canadian treat but also brings together the community in such a sweet and meaningful way,” said Robbins. “It’s a perfect opportunity for brands to engage with an enthusiastic and like-minded audience.”
