Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 30, 2024, at 12:59 p.m., while on general patrol on Longwoods Road, near Communication Road in Chatham, an officer was alerted by the Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) to a vehicle registered to a suspended driver.
As the officer conducted a traffic stop the man driving failed to stop and continued driving through a red light.
Following an investigation, the driver was identified and confirmed to be operating the vehicle while suspended.
On September 4, 2024, at 10:40 p.m., police located the man on Queen Street in Highgate and arrested him.
The 39-year-old Highgate man was transported to police headquarters, where he was charged with flight from police and released with conditions and a future court date of October 7, 2024.
He was also issued a Part III summons for several Highway Traffic Act Offences, including driving while under suspension.
