Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Police have made arrests related to a series of gasoline thefts from local gas stations.
The incidents occurred on the following dates and locations:
– August 16, 2024, on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
– August 18, 2024, on Main Street in Ridgetown.
– August 27, 2024, on Charing Cross Road in Harwich Township.
Through investigation the three theft investigations were connected.
The release of surveillance footage to the public let to the identification of the suspects, who subsequently turned themselves in.
On September 4, 2024, at 7:22 p.m., the man and the woman attended police headquarters and turned themselves in to the police.
The 34-year-old Chatham woman is currently facing the following charges: two counts of theft and two counts of possession of stolen property.
The 38-year-old Chatham man is currently facing the following charges: three counts of theft and three counts of possession of stolen property.
Both were released with conditions and a future court date of October 7, 2024.
