Mrs. Reta (Jill) Schram, a resident of Chatham, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in Chatham, at the age of 72.
Reta was born in Chatham, raised in Dresden, and was a daughter of the late Alex and Bertha (Henry) Schram.
Loving mother to Sylvie Houde (the late Christopher Ulch), Marcel Houde, Jason Houde (Donna Oag). She is survived by her step-children Lori, Kerri, Juli and their families.
She had a special bond and will be sadly missed by CJ and Amber and 9 more grandchildren and 5 step grand children.
Also missed by her fur babies Lilly, Patches and Precious and grand fur babies Chase, Tia and Daxter.
Predeceased by her loving partner Bill Merriam and her extended family. Also, her sisters Lori, Irene and her brother Victor.
Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Reta Loved going to yard sales, Sunday drives, Chinese food, and most of all fishing. She fulfilled a lifelong bucket list dream travelling with Sylvie & CJ to Punta Cana, and having a motorcycle, her Can Am Ryker with which she joined “Tuesday Night Bike Night” with the SCRC.
Family and friends will be received at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. 639 Elgin St., Wallaceburg, on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 1-3 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Cremation will follow.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Chatham-Kent Hospice or the Arthritis Foundation may be left at the funeral home.
