Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 28, 2024, at 2:56 p.m., police responded to Wallace Street in Wallaceburg for an assault investigation.
Police learned the victim had been sprayed with bear mace by the man.
The man fled the scene but was identified.
When he was not located a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On September 30, 2024, at 2:28 p.m., the man attended the Wallaceburg station to retrieve property from a previous encounter with the police and was arrested.
The 28-year-old Dresden man was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
He is currently facing the following charges: assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon. Administering a noxious thing and two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to an order.
