Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On Thursday, October 3, 2024, at approximately 09 a.m., Chatham-Kent Police received a report of a break and enter at a commercial business on Richmond Street in Chatham, that took place at approximately 2:30 a.m., based on video surveillance reviewed.
Unknown suspects gained entry by breaking the glass door and rummaged through the cash register.
Police cleared the interior of the business and observed that everything was in order other than smashed glass from the front door. The owner confirmed that no other damage was caused, and no monetary funds from the cash register were taken.
Estimated damage was approximately $1,000.
This investigation is still ongoing.
