Lambton OPP: Threats investigations leads to three people being charged

OPP officials allege: Three individuals have been charged in relation to a threats’ investigation.

On September 16, 2024, at approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to an address in Lambton Shores for a report of a threat’s complaint.

As a result of the investigation, on October 2, 2024, a 12-year-old of the Municipality of Lambton Shores has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

– Uttering threats – Cause death or bodily harm

– Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

The accused, whose identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

Additionally, two adults, both of Lambton Shores have been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offences:

– Careless storage of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition

– Unauthorized poss of a firearm

– Obstruct Peace Officer

The accused have been released from police custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

All names and ages have been withheld in an effort to protect the youth’s identity.

No further details will be released in accordance with the YCJA.
