It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Son (Kim Myung-Ok). She passed away in the early hours of October 9, 2024, at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, due to a stroke. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.
Linda will be dearly missed by her husband, Brian Hyun-Ho Son, her daughters Nancy Young-Kyung Son-Wilkening (Jan) and
Jessica Hyo-Jin Son (Quang-Tue) and her grandchildren Henrik, Finny, Olivia and Clara.
Born in Seoul on November 18, 1954 (aged 69) of three sons and three daughters to Mr. Kim Soon-Chan and Ms. Ahn Doo-Nyeo. She worked as a civil servant in the South Korean central government before immigrating to Canada in April 1988. In Canada, she and her husband ran a small business in Dresden, Sonny’s Variety for 32 years. Linda retired in 2022 and spent her time traveling and golfing with her husband and friends.
Linda led an extraordinary life – one full of passion, adventure and love – which she was always so grateful for. She will be dearly missed.
