Donna and Michael Jones of Tilbury has won $225,000 on The Big Spin Instant game.
OLG officials say Donna and Michael, retirees, have been playing the lottery with OLG for decades.
Over the years, they’ve enjoyed playing with their colleagues from work.
Since entering into retirement, the couple has continued to play the lottery together.
They love The Big Spin and Plinko, and typically pick up their tickets while running errands.
Donna and Michael recently visited the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, eager to see what prize amount they would win, courtesy of The Big Spin.
After revealing a Spin prize on their The Big Spin ticket, Donna and Michael were expecting a small prize, yet hoping for a big win.
“I was sitting in the car thinking, ‘It would be nice if it was more than $20,’” Donna recounted.
“That’s when Michael came out of the store and said, ‘Get in here! I think we won big!’ I bolted out of the car,” Donna laughed.
“It didn’t click for me right away,” said Michael. “I thought to myself, ‘Until I see it, I won’t believe it.’”
Donna suggested that she and Michael share the good news. “We were so excited that we went over to see our children right away.”
The day of The Big Spin event finally arrived.
Surrounded by cheering family, Donna nervously spun the wheel.
Then, they all celebrated together, as Donna and Michael won $225,000!
“It was amazing watching the wheel spin. It’s still unbelievable,” said Donna. “Having our family here has made it even more special. We didn’t have to ask them to come. They all wanted to be here for us,” Michael smiled. “Winning $225,000 feels like winning $1 million. Life is good!”
“We are so grateful for this experience. We didn’t come here with a plan for the winnings, but we both have some ideas.” Michael likes classic cars, so he may treat himself to some accessories. I think we’ll take some time to let this win settle in before making any decisions,” Donna said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Mill Street West in Tilbury.
