It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Betty Solomon at the Chatham Kent Hospice on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at the age of 71, while surrounded by family.
Betty is survived by her mother Jean Solomon, and her sister Nancy Solomon-Miller. She was the proud Aunt of Ryan and Brent Solomon, Cory (Stephanie), Colin (Rebecca), and Chase Henry, Mark (Francesca), and Morgan Miller (Karl), and many loving great-nieces and nephews as well as a great-great niece and great-great nephew. Betty is also survived by her dear Aunts, Heddy, Sandra and Linda. Betty is predeceased by her father Wilfred (2020), brother Larry (2023), sister Cathy Solomon-Henry (2011), brother Daniel (in infancy) and nephew Scott Solomon (2000).
Betty was a compassionate caregiver who provided dedicated care as a PSW for 21 years. She was often late to her own family functions because she wanted to provide extra care to residents who needed it. She demonstrated the same care to her parents and family, as she took care of her parents for the last few years. She also loved her pets and plants in her beautiful garden. Spending time with family and friends were valuable moments cherished.
The Solomon family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the LHSC Regional Cancer Center, Newbury Hospital, and Ontario Home Health. Special gratitude is extended to the staff at CK Hospice for providing exceptional care to both Betty and her family at the end of Betty’s journey on earth.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Chatham Kent Hospice, London Health Science Centre – Cancer Research, and Newbury Hospital.
