Crash in St. Clair Township leads to careless driving charge

OPP officials allege: Members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in St. Clair Township.

On November 11, 2024, just after 11:00 a.m., members from the Lambton County OPP, along with Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and St. Clair Township Fire Department were called to a collision at the intersection of Petrolia Line and Plank Road in St. Clair Township.

Investigation revealed that a vehicle travelling westbound on Petrolia Line left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

The lone driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

A section of the intersection was closed for approximately seven hours to allow for the repair of the hydro pole. The intersection has since reopened.

As a result of the investigation, a 64-year-old of Sarnia was charged under the Highway Traffic act with the following offence: Careless driving.
