Update: Careless driving causing death charges laid after two pedestrians were struck and killed back in May

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 18, 2024, at 7:11 p.m. emergency crews responded to a motor vehicle collision on Charing Cross Road near Horton Line.

Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle, and despite life-saving efforts, both women tragically succumbed to their injuries.

Last week, the 24-year-old male driver from Raleigh Township was charged with two counts of careless driving causing death in connection with this incident.

He is scheduled to appear in provincial offences court on December 17, 2023.
