Update from the Lambton OPP: Lambton OPP investigating boating fatality that resulted in the death of two individuals.
On November 16, 2024, at approximately 5:55 p.m., emergency services including members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) Trenton and United States Coast Guard responded to the report of a single vessel collision on Pocket Bay in Walpole Island First Nation.
As a result, two individuals were pronounced deceased at scene.
Members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team are on scene to assist with the investigation.

Lambton OPP officials tweeted at 9:43 a.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024: Lambton OPP, with assistance from Trenton JRCC CCCOS and the United States Coast Guard, are investigating a fatal boating accident in Pocket Bay near Walpole Island First Nation.
Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
