13th annual Jingle All the Way Run in Wallaceburg raises funds and shoes for local and global Causes

The 13th annual Jingle All the Way Run brought 91 participants to Wallaceburg on Saturday, December 7, 2024, for a spirited run, raising $1,820 and collecting numerous pairs of shoes to benefit both local seniors and communities in need abroad.

Karen Eddleson, one of the event’s organizers and a member of the Defiance Running Club, celebrated the milestone alongside participants from the Black Goose and long-standing running group, the Squirrels.

Proceeds from the run will support the Elder Tree Project, led by Tina Vilaranda, which aims to bring gifts and holiday cheer to 50 local seniors this Christmas. Meanwhile, shoes collected during the event will be transported to El Salvador by Mike deBakker as part of the “Homes for Hope” initiative.

Dana Haggith caught up with Eddleson for an interview. Watch, below:

The event has become a beloved holiday tradition in Wallaceburg, uniting fitness enthusiasts and charitable efforts to spread joy at home and abroad.
