Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say the Wednesday, December 18, 2024 Police Service Board meeting was an exciting one.
“We celebrated the well-deserved promotions of several officers and welcomed our new Deputy Chief of Police, who was officially sworn-in,” police officials said on social media.
“And if that was exciting enough, we were honoured that Baseball Hall of Famer, Fergie Jenkins, was in attendance. Congratulations to each of you. We look forward to how your leadership will benefit our service and community.”
Police officials say the promotions include:
– From Constable to Sergeant – Sgt. Adrian Roy, Sgt. Paul Brophy, Sgt. Gary Oriet, Sgt. Mark VanderGriendt, Sgt. Ed Vanoorde, and Sgt. Jason Williams.
– From Sergeant to Staff Sergeant – Staff Sergeant Brent Middel.
– From Staff Sergeant to Inspector – Inspector Greg Cranston.
– From Inspector to Deputy Chief – Deputy Chief Jason Chickowski.
