Walpole Island First Nation (WIFN) has announced the timeline for its 2024-2026 Board of Education elections, featuring a staggered term structure.
Two elected positions will serve for one year and seven months, while three positions will hold terms of two years and seven months.
The key dates for the election are as follows:
– Nominations: Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
– Speech night: Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 6 p.m.
– Voting day: Wednesday, February 5, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
– Swearing-in ceremony: Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 6 p.m.
