The Chatham branch of the Chatham-Kent Public Library will host a special screening of the film “Youngblood” on April 17 in celebration of National Canadian Film Day.
The event will feature a reimagining of the classic hockey story, directed by Hubert Davis, following the journey of Dean Youngblood, a promising player whose future is derailed after a violent on-ice incident. Given a second chance with a new team, the character must confront his behaviour, rebuild his reputation and work toward a championship.
Library officials say the film blends drama, sports action and themes of redemption.
The screening is free to attend and open to the public, with no registration required.
