Lambton OPP officials allege: Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system assists officer in stopping and charging a driver from Corunna.
On January 28, 2025, shortly after 11:20 a.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol on Beckwith Street in Corunna, was alerted by the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, of a possible suspended driver.
A traffic stop was initiated.
The investigation revealed the driver was a prohibited driver.
As a result, a 66-year-old Corunna man has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:
– Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (two counts)
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45-days.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 6, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.

On January 27, 2025, shortly after 3:45 p.m., a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), while on general patrol in Petrolia, was alerted by the Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system, of a possible suspended driver.
A traffic stop was initiated on First Avenue.
The investigation revealed the driver was a prohibited driver.
As a result, a 48-year-old Petrolia man has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with the following offence:
– Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45-days.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on March 11, 2025, in the City of Sarnia.
