Series of escalating incidents in Sarnia leads to ‘swift action’ from police

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On January 26, 2025, at approximately 11 a.m., Sarnia Police were alerted to a series of escalating incidents involving a male suspect in the area of London Road and Brock Street North.

The suspect first engaged a female driver stopped at the intersection in an aggressive verbal confrontation.

Fortunately, when the traffic light changed, the driver was able to leave the area safely.

The suspect then continued eastbound on London Road, where he encountered a pedestrian.

Without provocation, he allegedly threatened the victim, stating he was going to stab him.

The victim was able to distance himself and quickly contacted police.

The suspect continued his erratic behavior, eventually sitting on the porch of a nearby residence.

When the homeowners returned from a walk, they were confronted by the suspect, who again made threats of bodily harm and death.

Thanks to the swift response of the Sarnia Police Service, officers arrived within minutes of being notified.

They quickly located the suspect at the intersection of London Road and Christina Street and took immediate action to ensure public safety.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Sarnia Police Station, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

The suspect was subsequently released on a Judicial Release order.

The rapid response of Sarnia Police officers prevented further potential harm to citizens and demonstrated their commitment to maintaining safety and order in the community.

– Uttering Threats to Cause Death (x2)

– Causing a Disturbance

– Criminal Harassment
