Outstanding warrant executed in Wheatley, bail violations in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 24, 2025, at approximately 7:08 p.m., Essex County Ontario Provincial Police Service contact the Chatham-Kent Police Service after locating a 27-year-old male from Wheatley, who was wanted on a bench warrant for Failing to Appear in court.

The warrants included charges for Possession over $5,000, Possession under $5,000, and Obstruct of a Peace Officer. The accused was returned to the Chatham-Kent Police Service and released with a future court date scheduled for April 28, 2025.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service thanks the Essex Country Ontario Provincial Police Service for their assistance in this matter.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 24, 2025, a 54-year-old Chatham man attended a bail hearing due to multiple charges stemming from a prior incident, where he assaulted two members of his family. He was arrested by the Chatham-Kent Police Service and was released from custody under the following conditions: The accused was not allowed to communicate in any way either directly or indirectly, by any physical, electronic, or other means with the complainants in this case.

The accused was not allowed to be within 50 meters of any location where he knows the complainants to live, work, attend school, frequent or any place he knows the persons to be located including, Park Avenue West, Chatham.

On, March 24, 2025, at approximately 10:48 p.m., Chatham Kent Police Service received a call for service regarding a potential breach of bail violations. Officers were advised that the accused, was on the property, Park Avenue West, Chatham and attempting to access the rear door of the residence.

Police arrived shortly thereafter and located the accused on the property.

Officers arrested him without incident and found the accused to be in violation of his release conditions. He was read his rights to counsel and charged with two counts of Fail to Comply Release Order,

The accused was then transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters, where he was released with a future court date scheduled for April 9, 2025.
