Tesla Cybertruck damaged, racial slurs shouted at owner in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 25, 2025, at approximately 3:58 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of property damage in the parking lot of a retail store on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

The complainant in this matter reported that an unknown man was damaging his Tesla truck.

The accused left before the arrival of the police service.

However, officers located the accused at the intersection of St. Clair Street and McNaughton Avenue and
he was identified as a 27-year-old Chatham man.

The investigation revealed that the man had keyed the vehicle and was also striking it while shouting racial slurs at the vehicle’s owner.

During his arrest, the man spat at one of the attending officers.

Subsequently, the accused was charged with mischief over $5,000 and assaulting a peace officer.

The accused was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

He was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of April 28, 2025.
