Fentanyl seized in Sarnia

Sarnia Police Service officials allegeL On Friday March 28th 2025 at 2:30pm, police were present in a retail parking lot located in the 500 block of Exmouth Street. While dealing with another matter, plain clothes officers observed a male acting suspiciously at the side of the plaza and initiated an investigation.

As officers were speaking with the male, they observed him clenching his left hand while his right hand was empty. When asked what was in his hand, the male showed officers what was observed to be a rock of blue fentanyl. The male attempted to discard the drugs, but was quickly placed under arrest.

Search incident to arrest resulted in the discovery of additional fentanyl (approx. 23 grams), a small amount of cash, and drug trafficking paraphernalia. Further investigation revealed he was also subject to a probation order.

A 40 year old of no fixed address, was held for bail on the following charges:

– Possession for the purpose of trafficking

– Breach of probation
