William Alexander Hackney
1940 – 2025
William ‘Bill’ Hackney passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at the age of 85 at the CKHA – Wallaceburg Campus.
He was a long-time resident of southwestern Ontario, having lived in Mooretown, Port Lambton, Wallaceburg, Melbourne, and other locales. He had eclectic interests, including reading, spirited conversation, documentaries, music, travel and history.
Bill is survived by sister Diane, brother-in-law Tom, sisters-in-law Madeline and Shirley and nieces and nephew Heather, Karen, Lee, Mary-Jo, Laurie and Steven. He is predeceased by brothers Joe and Bob.
In accordance to Bill’s wishes, there will not be a visitation or service. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home (409 Nelson St, Wallaceburg, 519-627-3231). If you so desire to make a donation in his memory, please consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
