Update: Drugs and guns seized after a man was shot on Aamjiwnaang First Nation

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On April 22, 2025 the Sarnia Police Service responded to a weapons call in which a 30 year male had been shot through both legs.

This gunshot caused severe injuries to this individual and the male remains in a London Hospital in stable condition.

As a result of this incident, the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at this residence.

Additional SPS resources including the Forensic Identifications Branch, the Emergency Response Team and the K-9 Unit were utilized.

During the search of the residence, the following items were located:

– a loaded Glock 9mm handgun

– a 10 round capacity magazine, loaded with 9 rounds, seated in the gun. (prohibited)

– additional 9mm rounds

– a spent 9mm shell casing

– 15.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine

– 23.7 grams of cocaine

– 13 oxycodone pills (homemade pressed to look like oxycodone – likely containing fentanyl)

– $2440 Canadian currency

– drug trafficking paraphernalia

The Sarnia Police Service will be sending several homemade pills to Health Canada for testing and identification.

As a result of this investigation a 32-year-old Aamjiwnaang First Nation man is charged with the following offences:

– Possession for the purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)

– Possession for the purpose of Trafficking (Methamphetamine)

– Possession for the purpose of Trafficking (Oxycodone)

– Breach Probation X2

– Breach Recognizance

Multiple firearms offences including:

– Careless use of firearm

– Point firearm

– Assault with a weapon (firearm)

– Possession illegal firearm

– Contravention of a firearms prohibition order

– Possess firearm no licence

– Unlawful firearm storage

– Careless storage (firearm)

– Careless storage (ammunition)

– Possession of a restricted firearm

– Possession of a prohibited device (high capacity magazine)

The man has not been released after being remanded into custody following his initial bail hearing.
