Failing to attend court charges laid stemming from October bicycle thefts in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A man was arrested for multiple offences, including theft and mischief, on October 23, 2024, at Ursuline College.

The accused was observed using bolt cutters to steal bicycles from the school’s courtyard and was found nearby with one of the stolen bicycles.

During the arrest, officers discovered bolt cutters, and a debit card not legally issued in his name, violating a probation order established on April 8, 2024.

He was processed at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

After failing to attend a scheduled court date related to this incident, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On April 28, 2025, he was located and arrested by Chatham-Kent Police.

He has been released with a future court date set for May 12, 2025.
