Mischief charges laid after an assault investigation in Camden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 22, 2025, the Chatham-Kent Police were called to a residence in Camden Township for an assault investigation.

Through investigation the officer learned an incident involving two men escalated into a consensual altercation following an exchange of hostile text messages.

The confrontation occurred at a private residence, where both parties were reportedly under the influence of alcohol.

Following the fight, one individual expressed frustration and proceeded to vandalize the other’s vehicle by smashing the driver-side mirror and standing on the roof, resulting in damage.

On April 28, 2025, at 11:43 a.m. the 30-year-old Thamesville man turned himself in to the police.

He was charged with mischief under $5,000 and released with conditions and a court date of May 26, 2025.
