OPP officials allege: One individual has been charged with impaired driving following a traffic stop.
On May 2, 2025, just after 8:20 p.m., while conducting general patrol, a member of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Lambton Line, east of Naylor Road in Dawn-Euphemia Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 52-year-old Bothwell man was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act, and the Liquor Licence and Control Act with the following offences:
– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
– Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
– Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
– Driving while under suspension
– Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia on June 2, 2025.
