It is with shattered hearts that we share the passing of Sandra, who answered the call from Heaven on May 10th, 2025, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Eric for 58 years, loving mother to Anthony and Susan, devoted Nana to Lance, Samantha, and Dylan, and Great Nana to Adora, Meadow, and Ryker.
Reunited with her parents, William and Phyllis Davies, and her cherished sisters, Linda Lusk and Diane Boughner, as well as her brothers-in-law, Edwin and Lawrence Johnston, and sister-in-law, Elaine Johnston.
Survived by her big brother Edward (Olwen) Davies, brothers-in-law Glenn Lusk and Bob Boughner, and sister-in-law Germaine Johnston, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss her dearly, including her bonus daughter Leah Makra and her children, Reese and Jake. Sandra also leaves behind an enduring circle of close friends, and her protective granddog, Maisie Mae.
Sandra lived her entire life in Wallaceburg. She sacrificed a career at Union Gas to raise her children. Once they were off to school, she worked for Dr. Robert Sin Yan Too until her health would no longer allow the daily grind. However, that did not stop her from fulfilling her true passion, helping others in her community.
Sandra gave countless hours volunteering for a multitude of organizations, including the March of Dimes, The Optimist Club, VON Palliative Care, Bingo Associations, Save Our Sydenham (SOS), and James St Ministry, which encompassed Community Meal, Share the Warmth, and her most treasured cause, Mom’s Baby Cupboard.
Sandra’s greatest gift was her thoughtful and generous heart-a heart that made everyone around her feel truly special. Whether through phone calls, cards, or flowers, you could always feel her love.
All who held Sandra dear are invited to join her family at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m.
