The new progressive lottery ‘Catch The Ace CK’ is officially underway, and Chatham’s Maureen Geddes is its first weekly winner.
Geddes took home a $306 prize after her ticket was drawn and the Jack of Diamonds revealed.
While the Ace of Spades remained hidden, which would have netted her an additional $5,000, the game now moves into its second week — with the progressive jackpot continuing to grow.
Catch The Ace CK is a joint fundraising initiative between Habitat for Humanity Chatham-Kent and the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise. The raffle features a minimum $5,000 jackpot guaranteed to the first player who draws the elusive Ace of Spades.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.catchtheaceck.ca or in person at the Habitat ReStore located at 55 Junction Avenue in Chatham.
Each week, one ticket is drawn and a card revealed. If the Ace of Spades isn’t found, the prize money rolls over, increasing the potential payout for future draws.
Proceeds from ticket sales are split as follows: 50% to Habitat for Humanity and the Rotary Club, 30% to the growing jackpot, and 20% awarded as the weekly prize.
