Update #2: All alerts have ended across Chatham-Kent
Update: At 1:57 AM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
This line of severe thunderstorms is located from Kettle Point to Colchester, moving east at 80 km/h.
Hazard: 90 km/h wind gusts.
Locations impacted include:
Leamington, Chatham, Petrolia, Forest, Rodney, Strathroy, Kingsville, Belle River, Lakeshore, Point Pelee National Park, Wheatley Provincial Park, Tilbury, Wallaceburg, Oil Springs, Blenheim, Ridgetown, Watford, Melbourne and Mount Brydges.
Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
Severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are expected to produce damaging hail, wind or rain.

Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch in Chatham-Kent at 9:52 p.m. on May 15, 2025. Here are the details:
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
What:
Wind gusts to 100 km/h.
Up to toonie size hail.
Risk of a tornado.
Heavy downpours.
When:
Beginning near midnight for areas near the Michigan border and ending overnight.
Additional information:
A line of thunderstorms approaching from Michigan will move east through the area tonight.
Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible.
When thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Secure loose objects.
