Blenheim Health Hub makes groundbreaking strides

A new era in community healthcare is taking shape in South Kent as the Blenheim Medical Health Foundation (BMHF) prepares to unveil the newly named Health Hub, set to open this fall at 2 Hyland Drive.

Visible progress is already underway at the site just off Highway 40, where construction crews are transforming the former Thompson building—donated by the Timmermans family in 2023—into a state-of-the-art healthcare facility.

In addition to physical renovations, the BMHF has rolled out a new strategic direction that includes a name change, updated brand identity, and fresh community-focused messaging. “We’ve always envisioned this building being the heartbeat of the community,” said board secretary Cathy Smith, in a media release. “This new name naturally reflects the Health Hub as the centerpiece of our shared desire to ensure a healthy community.”

To shape the new creative direction, the board enlisted Lemonade Limited and creative strategist James Rasmussen. The result is a refreshed brand identity, including a new logo inspired by the unique shape of the building itself.

Board chair Ed O’Brien said the new strategy draws deeply from the spirit of the community. “Our new tagline, It’s happening here, captures the energy and work of everyone involved—past, present and future. It reflects the passion of the board, our volunteers, our donors, and our neighbours who have helped make this a reality,” he said. “Quite literally, the future of our collective health is happening here.”

Community members can expect to see the new brand roll out over the next week, with a new website, logo, and social media presence set to go live. “This building has a special place in our hearts,” said board member Patricia Peters. “It was once a cornerstone of local business and is now becoming a cornerstone of local wellness. The logo design pays tribute to that legacy.”

The Health Hub marks a major step forward in ensuring accessible, community-driven healthcare in the region. To learn more or to contribute to the initiative, visit www.blenheimhealthhub.com or follow Blenheim Health Hub on Facebook and Instagram.
