Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 21, 2025, at approximately 9:21 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in Wallaceburg.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a 35-year-old male from Wallaceburg, had assaulted and threatened a 42-year-old female victim also from Wallaceburg, during a domestic-related incident.
Witnesses reported hearing shouting and sounds of distress before approaching the residence, where they observed the suspect making aggressive threats.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service located the individual inside a parked vehicle nearby.
Further investigation revealed that the accused was bound by multiple probation orders, which included conditions with the victim and prohibiting the accused from being within 100 metres her home, work, or school.
The individual had previously been convicted of assault and uttering threats, with ongoing conditions still in effect.
The male was arrested and transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and is facing the following charges:
– Assault
– Uttering threats to cause bodily harm
The accused is currently being held for bail and his next court date is scheduled for May 26, 2025.
