Three people arrested after a retail theft in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 24, 2025, at approximately 8:18 a.m. the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a theft complaint at a retail store in Chatham.

The complainant advised officers that two individuals had exited the premises with a large quantity of items and were still in the parking lot of the retail store.

Police officers arrived and located a 56-year-old male from Windsor in the parking lot.

The male suspect was arrested on scene, while the second suspect, a 44-year-old female also from Windsor fled on foot.

She was located shortly afterwards by police and was arrested.

Further investigation led to the arrest of a third suspect, a 31-year-old female from Chatham-Kent, who was found in possession of the stolen items.

The individuals are currently facing the following charges:

56-year-old male from Windsor

– Theft Under $5,000

– Obstruct Public or Peace officer

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

44-year-old female also from Windsor

– Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

31-year-old female from Chatham-Kent

– Obstruct Public or Peace officer

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

Video surveillance also confirmed the suspects’ involvement, including the vehicle in which the stolen items were loaded.

The 44-year-old female suspect was released with conditions and a scheduled future court date of June 16, 2025.

The other suspects are currently being held for bail.
