Unlawfully in a dwelling in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 3, 2025, at approximately 12:09 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of an unlawful entry related to intimate partner violence at a residence in Chatham.

Upon arrival, officers learned that a 37-year-old male from Chatham had reportedly forced entry into a home and a caused damage to the door.

The suspect, who had been in a relationship with the resident, broke down the door and entered unlawfully.

Officers located the suspect shortly after in a nearby parking lot and he was taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with the following:

– Being Unlawfully in Dwelling-House

The accused was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters.

He was later released with conditions and given a future court date of July 7, 2025.
