Sarnia Police Service officials allege: On June 5, 2025 at 10 p.m., police were called to the Suncor Docks on St Clair Parkway for a male with a knife.
Investigation revealed that 48-year-old victim and her 14-year-old son had attended Sarnia from London to fish.
Originally fishing at the south end of the dock, the son moved to the north to find a better spot.
In doing so he encountered a male who indicated that the son should fish elsewhere.
To emphasize this point, he produced a knife. The son reported this to his mother, who in turn confronted the male.
The male produced the knife again, put it to his own neck in a threatening gesture, pointed it at the victim and charged at her for a short distance.
The victim backed away and in doing so, tripped on an anchor and hit her head.
The male was located nearby and arrested without incident.
A 12″ fishing knife was recovered.
There were no injuries other than the bump on the victim’s head caused by the fall (EMS refused).
A 69-year-old man of Scotch Pine Gate Mississauga, was held for bail on the following charges:
– Assault with a Weapon
– Weapons Dangerous
