Nora McCaughrin

With her precious family by her side, Nora Elsie McCaughrin of Morpeth, passed away peacefully into her Lord’s arms at the age of 85.

She left this world just how she desired; at home, overlooking her beautiful gardens and the beaches of Lake Erie.

Nora was the daughter of the late David & Dorothea Neill & sister of the late Ted & Jim of Geraldton.

She was very proud to have attended Alma College in St. Thomas where she met the love of her life & best friend, the late Lee McCaughrin (2020) and they married in 1959.

Nora was the very cherished mother of the late Susan Douglas (2018) (Rick) and David (Barbara).

A special & loved Grandma to Tricia (Alan), Spencer, Johnathan & Amanda (Michael).

She was loved for her sense of humour, her efficient organizational skills, her raisin bread, “housechecker” cookies & deep love for her family. In her early years, she enjoyed curling and sang with the “Sweet Adelines”.

After Lee passed, she became a member of the Morpeth Heritage Club where she made many new friends & enjoyed playing shuffleboard and bus trips.

Lee and Nora are deeply missed by the “Lakeshore Gang” and many close lifelong friends.

Many thanks to all of her friends who were there for Nora & our family during a difficult time. A thank you to all of her primary physicians, University Hospital, VON, Bayshore & especially Neighbourly Care who compassionately & lovingly cared for Nora during her final months.

Family and friends will be received at the Badder Funeral Home & Reception Centre, 679 North St, Dresden on Friday, June 13th from 11 am until the time of the service at 12 pm followed by interment in Dresden Cemetery. Luncheon will follow in the reception hall at Badder Funeral Home. If desired, donations may be made to Christ Church, Dresden (cheque only). Condolences may be left at www.badderfuneralhome.com.
