B&E in Chatham leads to unlawfully in a dwelling charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 11, 2025, at approximately 10:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on Grand Avenue West.

The accused allegedly stole the keys to the victim’s home and unlawfully entered the premises, violating a previously established release order that prohibited contact with the victim and restricted proximity to her residence.

The individual was located nearby after fleeing the scene and was subsequently arrested.

The 36-year-old Chatham man was transported to police headquarters and held for bail. He is currently facing the following charges:

– Theft under $5,000

– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

– Unlawfully in a dwelling house

– Failure to comply with release order

– Failure to comply with release order
