OPP officials allege: On June 14, 2025, at 4:45 p.m., a member of the Moravian First Nation Police, while travelling on Selton Line in Moravian First Nation, performed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle.
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the OPP Detachment.
As a result, a 37-year-old Morpeth man, has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:
· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit
· Driver fail to surrender licence
· Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice to speak to the charges on July 2, 2025.
The OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
