The quiet village of Shrewsbury is set to come alive this summer with the debut of Rock the Hood, a new 19+ outdoor music festival taking place Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Organized by the Shrewsbury Raglan Assembly, the one-day event will run from 1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at 112 New Scotland Line, featuring nine bands across a range of genres. Headlining the event is the Soul Remedy Orchestra, with additional performances by Broke Rubber, Poor Man’s Poet, 40 Hours Over, Acoustic FM, Ray Whaling and the Brethren, Dirt Country, Hired Hand, and Full Frontal.
Food will be available from local favourites Smash Burger and Dog Days Barbeque, and beverage tickets, 50/50 draws, and festival merchandise will also be available on-site.
Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Wayne’s Pizza and Subs and Westside Performance Plus in Blenheim, or Tony’s One Stop Music in Chatham. Tickets at the gate will be $30.
To support accessibility and safety, round-trip bus transportation will be offered from both Blenheim and Chatham.
All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting community initiatives in Shrewsbury.
“We’re incredibly excited to bring Rock the Hood to life,” said Ben Coll, Vice President of the Shrewsbury Raglan Assembly. “This festival is more than just a music event—it’s about bringing people together, celebrating our growing community, and having an amazing time in the process. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Shrewsbury for what’s sure to be a fantastic day.”
The event is supported by local sponsors including Sunbelt Rentals, Femme Hair Salon, and Waste Connections Canada.
