Impaired driving charges laid after a vehicle ends up in a ditch in Dover

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On July 1, 2025, at approximately 1:38 p.m., Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to a report of a vehicle that had left the roadway and come to rest in a ditch on Bear Line, Dover Township.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with an off-duty officer who suspected that the driver was impaired.

The responding officer conducted further assessments and confirmed the suspicion and arrested the driver for impaired driving.

She was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

The 54-year-old woman Chatham woman was charged with impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

She was released with conditions and a future court date of July 14, 2025.
