On July 2, 2025, Gordon ‘Gerrit’ Jan Kraayenbrink left us peacefully to take his place with The Lord at the age of 88.
He has now been reunited with his beloved wife Anna (2017) and will be missed dearly by his children Jake and Betty (VanGurp), Fred and Valerie (Krill), Henk and Jennifer (Webb), Bernard and Karlene (Harris) and Pete and Delicia (Voskamp).
Cherished grandfather of Arie (Joy), Gerrit (Rachel), Evan, Carl, Anna, Ida (Jona), Jacob, Jane, Grace, Cornelia, Janell, Ellen, the late Hope, Russell, Brayden, Colin, Weston, Taylor (Jennifer), Lindsey (Calvin), Riley (Amanda), Matthew (Jayde), Kathryn (Timothy), Hannah (Curtis), Samantha (Robert), Benjamin (Victoria), Madison (Ethan), Alyssa (Edmund), Bradley (Karla), Daniel, Josiah, Abigail, Micah, Timothy, Esther and great grandfather of 42.
Son of the late Evert and Frederika Kraayenbrink and dear brother of the late Dina (late Derk) Bulsink, the late Aaltje (late Henk) Wisselink, the late Bernard (late Aleida) Kraayenbrink, the late Herman (late Johanna) Kraayenbrink, Riek Bosman (the late John), John Kraayenbrink (the late Ina), the late Everet (Irene) Kraayenbrink and the late Hendrik Kraayenbrink. Dear brother-in-law of the late Nell (late John) Groen, Ali (Piet) Koedijk, the late Jantine (late Klaas) vanHulst, the late Piet (late Anke) Slot, Jan Willem and Nel Slot, and the late Hanneke (Reimer) Bekius. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends are invited for visitation at the Wallaceburg Christian Reformed Church (150 Bruinsma Ave.) on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 6-9pm. All are welcome to attend his burial at McDonald Cemetery (Port Lambton) on Saturday July 12 at 9:30am and his funeral service at the Church at 11am. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Haycock-Cavanagh Funeral Home, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg (519-627-3231).
