Curfew violation in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: A 50-year-old Walpole Island man has been arrested for allegedly breaching a court-ordered curfew early Wednesday.

Police say the man had been under release conditions since April 2024, requiring him to stay on his property between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., unless for a family medical emergency.

Around 1:14 a.m. Wednesday, officers found him walking in the middle of Murray Street in Wallaceburg. He was identified and arrested for failing to comply with his release order.

He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
