Natural gas leak in Sarnia causes road closures

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: At approximately 9 a.m., Emergency Services responded to reports of a natural gas leak in the area of Shepherd Street and Confederation Street. Upon arrival, Sarnia Police, in coordination with Sarnia Fire Services, identified a high-pressure gas leak in the vicinity.

As a precaution, the affected area was evacuated, and both vehicle and pedestrian access to the immediate area has been restricted.

Enbridge is currently on site working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, Confederation Street will remain closed between Russell Street South and Savoy Street until the situation has been fully addressed.
